Job Description
Bapco Energies in Awali, Southern Governorate, Bahrain is hiring a full-time Senior Engineer to oversee complex projects within Bapco Tazweed, which manages the national fuel retail infrastructure. The role involves project planning, technical oversight, quality control, budget management, and stakeholder communication. This on-site position requires a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, PMP certification, and minimum 8 years of senior project/site engineering experience, preferably in the fuel retail sector.
## Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, execution, and oversight to ensure alignment with strategic goals and delivery milestones
- Provide technical expertise by reviewing and approving engineering designs for quality and compliance
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures, conducting site inspections and audits
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and manage site activities to minimize variations and claims
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost-control measures for financial efficiency
- Foster a cohesive team environment and evaluate and enhance project personnel dynamics
- Ensure integration of compliance requirements during operations, maintenance, and documentation phases
- Oversee vendor relationships across construction, pre-commissioning, and optimization phases
- Generate and supervise weekly and monthly reports, presenting project status, risks, and developments to senior management
- Anticipate and address complex challenges to ensure timely project completion with high standards
## Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- PMP Certification
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Senior Project Engineer or Site Engineer
- Extensive knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Proficiency in MS Project and Primavera
- Strong understanding of excavation processes and fuel retail industry standards
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in the fuel retail sector
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and people management skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on-site regularly, including outside working hours
- Proficiency in project management and engineering design software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities
