Job Description
A leading financial services organization in Bahrain is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead its technology function during a major digital transformation. The role involves owning the technology strategy, modernizing infrastructure and payments systems, and building high-performing teams across multiple markets. This is an on-site, full-time executive position based in Manama.
## Responsibilities
- Define and drive the overall technology strategy and roadmap in alignment with digital transformation objectives
- Lead three key areas: infrastructure including project delivery, database and CRM management; engineering covering software development, application delivery and solution design; and fintech/payments transformation including card management and payment processing
- Oversee modernization of legacy systems through cloud migration and architectural enhancements
- Recruit, mentor and scale technology teams across different markets to support business growth
- Ensure all technology operations comply with regulatory, security and governance requirements across jurisdictions
- Collaborate with executive leadership and the board on technology investments and prioritization
- Promote innovation in digital payments, open banking and emerging fintech solutions
## Requirements
- Proven track record as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or senior technology leader within financial services, fintech, or payments
- Hands-on experience with payments technology such as card issuing, acquiring, payment processing, or digital wallets strongly preferred
- Experience leading infrastructure, engineering, and product delivery at scale
- Strong understanding of regulatory and security standards in regulated financial environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage organizational change and lead digital transformation initiatives
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
